John Gooch (1783-1833)

1783 Born the son of John Gooch (1746-1818) of Beccles, Suffolk and his wife Barbara the daughter of Michael Longridge, of Wallbottle, Northumberland

1805 December 23rd. Married Anna Longridge the daughter of Thomas Longridge of Newcastle.

1808 Resident in Brompton

c1815 Moved to Bedlington as an Ironfounder at Bedlington Ironworks

John Gooch, came to Bedlington because his cousins, the Longridges and Hawkes, with a Mr Sorby of Linden had aquired the ironworks

1831 February. Left Bedlington to go to Tredegar Iron Works

1833 August 28th. Died and buried at Claines near Worcester

1851 Living at Chain Walk, Aston, Warwickshire (age 65 born Durham), Fundholder. With her five unmarried daughters. Also two servants and a visitor. [1]

1851 Living at Chain Walk, Aston, Warwickshire (age 75 born Durham), Retired. With daughters Barbara, Jane and Frances (all unmarried). Also one servant. [2]

1863 November 24th. Anna died at Birmingham age 80

  3. Anna Gooch. Born c1811 in London. Married 4 April 1851 the Rev. Thomas Henry Fitzpatrick, C.M.G., and she died 18 February 1863.

  5. Jane Longridge Gooch. (1814-1883). Born Thorpe, Surrey. Unmarried.
  6. Daniel Gooch (1816-1889)
  7. Mary Ann Gooch. Born c1819 in Durham. Married 31 May 1853 the Rev. Alfred Cory Kingdom, Vicar of Bunny St. Mary, near Nottingham and she died 29 October 1899
  8. George Henry Gooch (1820-1900)
  9. Frances Gooch. Born c1825. Married 25 April 1865 the Rev. William Laing, Rector of Langley, Staffs, and died 11 April, 1889.
  10. William Frederick Gooch (1825-1915)
