Born the son of William Atkinson, a Draper.

1875 Married at Reading to Clara Elizabeth Posgate and divorced in 1901

1891 Living at Milton House, Dore New Road, Derbyshire: John Furniss Atkinson (age 40 born Sheffield), Cutlery Manufacturer and hardware Merchant - Employer. With his wife Clara Elizabeth and their four daughters and two sons.[1]
