JOHN DUNCAN KEITH, born at Uddingston, near Glasgow, in 1878, died in Natal on the 12th October, 1912.
Trained in the engineering department of the North British Railway, he subsequently joined the staff of the Caledonian Railway.
His health failing in 1901, he was ordered to South Africa, where he obtained a post on the Natal Government Railways.
Later he served 10 years on the Buenos Aires Great Southern Railway, and, returning to South Africa, he was employed at the time of his death as assistant to J. J. Niven, Borough Engineer, Pietermaritzburg.
Mr. Keith was elected an Associate Member of The Institution on the 9th April, 1907.
