John Crickmore Archer (c1837-1908) of Archer and Anthony and on own account
1870 Dispute with his brother James Archer, Butcher.[1]
John Crickmore Archer built some vertical engines possibly in 1880s.[2]

LATHE ON WOOD BED, STEAM POWER DRILLING MACHINE, IRON SAW BENCH AND SPINDLE, PAIR NIPPING ROLLERS, SHAFTING, SMITH'S TOOLS, ANVIL, SETS of PATTERNS, STOCK-IN-TRADE, &c. MESSRS. HUNTER have received instructions from Mr. J. C. ARCHER, who is giving up business, to Sell by Auction, his Plant, Stock-in-Trade, and other Effects upon the premises, Calvert Street, Norwich, on Monday, July 23rd, 1688.'[3]
