1833 John Blackwell of Hungerford, Engineer to the Kennet and Avon Canal became a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers.[1]
1842 Obituary [2]
Mr. Baxter and Mr. Blackwell had long been Members of the Institution, and although their residence at a distance from the metropolis prevented their frequent attendance at our meetings, they have shown the interest they felt in its welfare, by contributions both to the Library and the Collection of Models.
