1969 Managing director of Standard Telephones and Cables, is appointed a vice-president of I.T.T. Europe Inc. and I.T.T. Industries Inc. Ayres became managing director of S.T.C. at the end of 1968, having previously been executive director of S.T.C.s Transmission Group at Basildon, Essex.[1]
