John Armstrong Haswell (1820-1894) of the North Eastern Railway, Locomotive Superintendent

1820 July 16th. Born at Fatfield, Durham, the son of William Haswell (1792-1877) and his wife Ann Armstrong (1792-1870)

1847 May 3rd. Married at Darlington to Jane Wood

1871 Living at 3 Woodline Place, Gateshead: John A. Haswell (age 51 born Fitfield), Engineer. With his wife Jane Haswell (age 46 born Longnewton) and their five children; Jane A. Haswell (age 23 born Gateshead); Margaret Haswell (age 16 born Gateshead); Emily Haswell (age 10 born Gateshead); William C. Haswell (age 8 born Gateshead); and John H. Haswell (age 4 born Gateshead). One servant.[1]

1894 August 19th. Died age 74. Superintendent Engineer.
