JOHN ALEXANDER CRAIG BLUE, who was born at Campbeltown, N.B., on the 14th March, 1850, and died in London on the 20th March, 1909, was associated during the whole of his professional career with the firm of Messrs. Lucas and Aird, now Sir John Aird and Company. Entering their service in 1875, he represented the firm on many important contracts, including railways in this country, the Tilbury Docks, the Suakin-Berber Railway, and, most notable of all, the Assuan Dam.
At the time of his death, he was engaged on the contract for the construction of the Avonmouth Docks.
Mr. Blue was elected an Associate Member of The Institution on the 1st March, 1887.
