1904 HEREFORD, James Tuder, J.P., Sufton Court, Hereford. Car: 9-h.p. Napier. Is President of the Herefordshire Automobile Club. Hobbies: Shooting, fishing, etc. Became a motorist in 1900. Principal aim in furthering automobilism: Because it disturbs the ancient peace, and because freedom of communication between different parts of the country makes for knowledge and progress. Is of opinion that the present craze for speed and power is very harmful. Thinks average of 20-25 miles an hour is all that is necessary. Looks forward to the time when motor-cars will be used in place of horsed broughams, wagonettes, omnibuses, etc., and to seeing regular and convenient services of passenger and goods' vehicles traversing the country, both as feeders to the railways, and also as taking the place of railways in certain districts, thereby keeping much of the horse traffic, which is so destructive to roads, away.
