James Taylor Cochran (1849-1916) of Cochran and Co and Cochran and Co (Annan)

1849 Born in Barony, Lanarkshire, son of Alexander Cochran and Janet nee Taylor[1], nephew of James Taylor (1817-1894)

1874 Married Jeannie Walker Bell in Birkenhead[2]

1878 Patent to Edward Crompton, of Liverpool, and James Taylor Cochran, of Birkenhead, in the county of Chester, in respect of the invention of "improvements in and relating to steam boilers."[3]

1881 James T. Cochran 31, master boiler maker, employing 190 men and 45 boys, lived in Birkenhead with Hannie W. Cochran 33, Alexander Cochran 2[4]

1891 James T Cochran 41, maker of engines, boiler and boats, employer, lived in Hoylake, Cheshire, with Jennie W Cochran 44, Alexander Cochran 12, George W Cochran 9, James B Cochran 7, Peter Cochran 4[5]

1900 Justice of Peace for Birkenhead

1901 James S Cochran 51, Engineer, Boilermaker & Boat Builder, lived in Annan, with Jeannie W Cochran 54, Alexander Cochran 22, Engineer Boilermaker[6]
