James Hardie McLean ( -1911), general manager and chief engineer of the Midland Electric Corporation for Power Distribution


1911 Obituary [1]

JAMES HARDIE McLEAN was apprenticed at Belfast to Mr. Greenhill, later working on Mr. Ferranti's staff at Grosvenor Gallery and Deptford.

He then went to take up a position with Messrs. W. Lucy & Co., of Oxford, and finally became general manager and engineer of the Midland Electric Corporation for Power Distribution, of Birmingham.

He died on March 27, 1911.

He joined the Institution in 1892, and was transferred to full Membership two years later.
