James Boot (1881-1965)

Born the son of James Boot, a Glazier.

1911 Living at Andes, Margaret Rd, New Barnet: James Boot (age 29 born St. Pancras), Assistant Manager, Railway Signal Manufacturer. With his wife Alice Marion Boot.[1]

1939 Latterly Chief Engineer General Railway Signal Co and President of the Institution of Railway Signal Engineers: prior to that had started on GNR (ten years); LSWR and Southern Railway and claimed to have worked for four signal contractors.

1939 Living at 14 Priory Road, Bicester, Railway Signal Engineer. With Olive M. Boot.[2]

1940 'James Boot. The Cottage, Box Hill, a railway signal engineer'[3]
