By the 1920s there were only two glass factories operating in Ireland, the Irish Glass Bottle Company and the Ringsend Bottle Company.

1930 Both companies closed.

1932 Under new management, the Irish Glass Bottle Co., Ltd, took over these two companies, starting with one furnace and single-head semi-automatic bottle-making machines.

Additional bottle-producing units were added over the years as the market expanded

1949 a subsidiary company, Waterford Glass, Ltd, was formed to revive the Waterford cut-glass industry .

By 1960 the Irish Glass Bottle company was operating 4 glass furnaces as well as a variety of glass-forming machines

1976 Rockware Glass acquired a 20.6% stake
