International Combustion Engineering Corporation of New York, USA

International Combustion Engineering Co, of Derby

c.1920 Company formed to combine various American, British and French stoker companies - Combustion Engineering Corporation, Underfeed Stoker Co and S. A. Foyers Automatiques[1]

1922 The entire operation of the Underfeed Stoker Co was transferred to a new factory at Derby

1923 After negotiations between Vickers and the International Combustion Engineering Corporation, the two established a new joint company Vickers and International Combustion Engineering Co to manufacture power plant equipment. Part of Vickers' factory at Barrow in Furness, which had been used to make shells, would be transferred to the new company to manufacture boilers for pulverised fuel and related equipment[2]

1927 Works moved from Barrow to Derby[3]. Presumably around this time, Vickers sold its share to the American partner.

1928 The shares in the company were quoted on the London Stock Exchange

1929 The US parent company was put in receivership[4]

1933 A British group bought the various companies and amalgamated them into International Combustion of Derby
