Hugh H. Maclure
Hugh Hough/Heugh/Heuch Maclure was born c.1821, the son of Andrew MacLure (master plasterer) and Margaret Marshall. He undertook architectural and civil engineering work for the Glasgow and South Western Railway. He married Eliza Reid and they had a son, W R MacLure. Hugh died at Wellwood, Bearsden, New Kilpatrick on 31 July 1892.
The above information is condensed from the Dictionary of Scottish Architects[1], which also includes a list of his known projects undertaken between 1858 and 1890. Most of these involved public buildings, particularly for churches and schools, but two bridges are included, Doonfoot Bridge (1860) and Heathhall Farm Railway Bridge (1863).
