c.1874 Born at Manchester the son of George Frederick Smith, a Stationer, and his wife Lucy Harding. He was a nephew of Thomas James Smith, whose business he joined in his early 20s.

1901 Living at Southmere, Hornsea, Yorkshire: Horatio N. Smith (age 26 born Manchester), Wholesale Druggist - Employer. With his wife Margaret and an aunt.[1]

1960 September. Died at Ringmer.[2]
