1867 Mention of a picture of a steam engine made by them in 1867[1]

With reference to the letters of i\1ossrs. ,J. W. Boulton and B. L. Ahrons in !'eg(U'd to the Hopetonn 1;-oundry-bnilt. engines, I well remember the type of tank engine described by the former gentleman, of which

Upwards of a dozen tank engines were built by the Foundry, both 4 wheels and 6 wheels coupled

Write to The Engineer claims these were marked as made by "John Harris, Hopetown Foundry," between the years 1863 and 1869.

The earlier engines had "Hopetown Foundry" on the name plate; some of the later ones had "Albert Hill Foundry" on the name plate.
