'DEATH OF MR WM. HIRST.— A well-known townsman passed away on Tuesday in the person of Mr. William Hirst of Heath Park-avenne, Halifax, aged 73. In his younger days Mr. Hirst was for many years a foreman for Messrs. Earnshaw, engineers, Crown Works, Booth Town, and later became a partner in the firm of Messrs. Hirst & Mitchell, Godley Ironworks. The business was successful and Mr. Hirst retired in 1905. ....'[1]
