HERBERT NICHOLAS FUNNELL, born on the 22nd January, 1880, was killed in a tramcar accident at Seneca Falls, New York State, on the 5th June, 1910.
He served a three years’ apprenticeship with Messrs. James Simpson and Company, and after some years’ varied experience in this country he went to the United States in 1907, where he served short engagements with the New York Edison Company, the Sheridan Iron Works, the Cleveland Automatic Machine Company, and the Goulds Manufacturing Company, with whom he was employed when he met his death.
Mr. Funnell was elected an Associate Member of The Institution on the 5th December, 1905.
