Possibly born in Kensington as Herbert Keith Wolfram Schmiechen the son of Hermann Schmiechen, a well-known Artist, and his wife Antonie both from Prussia, who were naturalised with their three children in 1892 while resident at 7 Cromwell Place, Kensington.
