Colonel HENRY SMITH GREENWOOD, born in Canada on the 27th April, 1861, died at Banff, N.B., on the 4th May, 1916.
He was employed in the Dominion Department of Railways and Canals from 1883 to 1900, when he volunteered for service in South Africa.
From 1900 to 1903 he had charge of the reconstruction of railways, as Resident Engineer at Johannesburg, and continued to act at that centre as District Engineer of the Central South African Railways until 1907, when he returned to Canada to become Assistant Chief Engineer of the Canadian Northern Railway.
On the outbreak of war, being in England; he offered his services to the War Office, and was employed under the Quartermaster-General until December, 1915.
He was elected a Member on the 1st March, 1904.
