DEATH OF MR H. O. STRONG. His Work in Local Life. The death on Sunday evening, after short illness, of Mr Henry Osborne Strong (78), of 29, Carnarvon Road, Redland, Bristol loses one of its keenest and most popular business men. Although he always exhibited a keen interest in civic and public affairs, he never took an active part.
It was the local engineering trade that he was best known, for he was the founder of the business of H. O. Strong and Sons, Ltd. It was in 1877 that he started that concern, and now Norfolk Works in Brunswick Square is one of the most important engineering firms the city. When a limited company was formed some 19 years ago.
