This display at Axminster Museum provides a good insight into the type of small scale foundry which was to be found in many towns, although perhaps the presence of an outdoor cupola in such close proximity to an employee's house was perhaps not typical!

In 1921 Norrington took over the Castle Hill, Axminster premises of George Heal and Sons, and undertook iron founding and agricultural engineering work. The foundry closed soon after WW2.[2]
