HENRY MIDDLEMORE LYNAM died at his residence, Hart's Hill, Stoke-on-Trent, on November 4, 1895, at the early age of thirty-one.
Son of Mr. Charles Lynam, F.S.A., of Stoke-on-Trent, he was educated at Shelton and at King William's College in the Isle of Man. He left school in his sixteenth year to enter the office of the late Mr. F. Wragge, manager of the Shelton Works and Collieries. Here he remained until the death of Mr. Wragge, when he was appointed secretary to the Shelton Company, and in 1891 was promoted to the office of general manager, which he retained until his death. Besides being a devoted man of business, Mr. Lynam took great interest in educational matters, and at the time of his death he occupied the position of deputy-chairman of the Hanley School Board.
He was elected a member of the Iron and Steel Institute in 1894.
