1798 Born in Walsall

1850 A boiler manufacturer, when his daughter, Charlotte, married John Walker in Southwark[1]

1851 he was in business at The Grove, Southwark and Russell Street, Rotherhithe, as Henry Cater, boiler makers.

1858 Boiler manufacturer, of The Grove, Great Guildford Street, Southwark[2]

1861 Patent application by Henry Cater, of the Grove Steam Boiler Works, in the borough of Southwark, Steam Boiler Manufacturer, in respect of the invention of "improvements in the construction of steam boilers."[3]

1878 Henry Cater died at Park Road, Southend, 30th June, age 81[4]
