HENRY BRAMALL, born on the 24th October, 1837, at Ashton-under-Lyne, died at Colwyn Bay on the 10th July, 1909. Throughout his professional career he was associated with the coal-mining industry, chiefly in Lancashire.

In 1886 he became Engineer and in 1900 Managing Director of Messrs. Knowles and Sons' Pendlebury Collieries, near Manchester; and in 1900 he became Consulting Engineer and Chairman of the Desford Coal Company, near Leicester, retaining these appointments until his death. He also held various honorary offices in connection with the industry.

Mr. Bramall was elected a Member of The Institution on the 1st May, 1877.
