Hayhurst Bridge
in Northwich, Cheshire
It is one of five large swing bridges taking roads across the River Weaver. The other four are downstream of this bridge.
Designed by John Arthur Saner, and built in 1898. It is believed to be the earliest 'floating' swing bridge in Britain, a large proportion of the weight being supported by a tank floating in a chamber.
The similar Northwich Town Bridge is located 1/3 mile downstream.
