1905-06 Steam wagon.[1]. This had some very curious features, principally in the use of a single cylinder engine and ratchet drive to the axle. (Nicolas Cugnot anticipated Hay by well over a century, but wisely used two cylinders!). Only one or two examples of Hay's lorry were made.[2]
