1948 The aircraft division of Hawker Siddeley Group became Hawker Siddeley Aviation and the guided missile and space technology operations Hawker Siddeley Dynamics.

1959 Acquired Folland Aircraft.[1]

1960 Acquired De Havilland Propellers and Blackburn Aircraft.[2]

1968 Contract to supply structures for Intelsat III [3]

1977 Hawker Siddeley Aviation (HSA) and Hawker Siddeley Dynamics (HSD) accounted for only 25% of the Hawker Siddeley business by this time. On 29 April, as a result of the Aircraft and Shipbuilding Industries Act, HSA and HSD were nationalised and merged with British Aircraft Corporation (BAC) and Scottish Aviation to form British Aerospace (BAe).
