Harwich Gas and Coke Co
1854 A Deed of Settlement for the Harwich Gas & Coke Co; construction of the Quay gasworks occurred that year at Harwich Quay.
1870 A new gasworks was built at Bathside.
1895 Street lighting was switched to incandescent light; an exhibition of gas cooker was held.
1938 the gasworks were using stop-ended HR.
1946 A W-D CVR was inaugurated
1949 Vested in the Eastern Gas Board
1964 Gas making at Harwich ceased, a bulk supply being taken by a new main from the existing Colchester/Ipswich link.
