HARRY EVELYN MARSH was born in Sheffield on 27th April 1881.
He was educated at Sheffield Royal Grammar School, and at Uppingham.
He served an apprenticeship of one year, 1898 to 1899, on the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway, and then studied at Cambridge until 1903, when he took his B.A. degree, subsequently specializing in engineering at Sheffield Technical School.
From 1904 to 1905 he was in America, completing his engineering education at the Railway Works, Schenectady. On his return — which was due to ill-health — he became assistant manager of the Effingham Steel Works and Rolling Mills Co., Ltd., Sheffield, and also held the position of Director of Marsh Brothers Co., Ltd., Sheffield.
His death took place in Sheffield on 10th January 1914, in his thirty-third year.
He was elected a Graduate of this Institution in 1904, and an Associate Member in 1909.
