Harold Richard Tuppen (1891- )

Tuppen. Ed. London University and apprenticed with R. Garrett and Sons, Leiston, Suffolk. Member of Royal Army Service Corps Club and Royal Automobile Club. War Services.—Mobilized August 4, 1914, with Suffolk Hussars (T.F. ); transferred to Royal Naval Divisional Royal Engineers and again to Army Service Corps, and proceeded to France, October, 1914. Served on 3rd Army Corps Headquarter Staff, commanded 1st Divisional Ammunition Sub-Park; served on staff of 2nd and 4th Army Headquarters Transport Directorates; was Deputy Assistant Director of Transport in 5th Army and 5th Area Headquarters; mentioned in dispatches, January, 1916, and January, 1917; awarded M.C. February, 1917, for distinguished conduct in the field.
