Established in 1869 by William O. S. Harnett. At his death in July, 1908, the business was bought by A. W. Maude, then manager, who had been connected with the firm since 1883. He was joined later in 1908 by H. M. Shaw.

1914 Present Principals: A. Worthington Maude and Henry M. Shaw. Branches: Buenos Ayres, Montevideo, Santiago de Chile and Lima. Business: General Merchants, specialise in Harness Furniture. Owners of the brand " Nomerma " Unshrinkable Underwear.
