1847 Dissolution of the Partnership between John Hardman, Jeremiah Iliffe, and Charles Iliffe, in the trades or businesses of Button Manufacturers and Merchants, carried on in London, Manchester, and Birmingham. Charles Iliffe will carry on the said trades[1]

1851 Won a prize at the 1851 Great Exhibition[2]

1855 of Newhall Street, button makers[3]

1863 Dissolution of the partnership between Charles Iliffe, William Dredge Player, and John Player, carrying on business at Nos. 38 and 39, Newhall-street, Birmingham, as Button Manufacturers, under the firm of Iliffe and Player Brothers, late Hardman and Iliffe, by mutual consent. The business was carried on by the said William Dredge Player and John Player, in Newhall-street, under the firm of Player Brothers, late Hardman and Iliffe[4]
