1911 Company first registered

1950 Company incorporated: tool makers; directors were various members of the Marshall family

1957 Patent application on "apparatus for grinding or sharpening rock drill bits or similar", the invention of James W S M Greaves and Geoffrey Wilson Marshall (patent granted 1960).

1964 Name changed to Marshalls (Halifax) Ltd[1]

Halifax Tool Co. continued as a subsidiary of Marshalls (Halifax)

1988 Engineers, manufacturers of Halco drilling tools, "down the hole" hammers and rock-drill bits

1996 The engineering businesses were transferred to Halco Group. The Halifax Tool company changed its registered name to Marshalls Building Products Ltd, a subsidiary of Marshalls PLC, and ceased to trade as engineers.
