1932 Obituary[1]

"The Late Mr. H. Parry Jones.—We regret to have to record the death from pneumonia of Mr. H. Parry Jones, chief engineer of the broad-gauge system of the Bombay, Baroda and Central India Railway. Mr. Parry Jones was born in 1878, and joined the railway in 1903 as an assistant engineer. He was posted, in - turn, to Rutlam, Ahmedabad and Bombay. Between 1911 and 1914 he served as acting executive engineer for several periods, and for 1915 and 1916 held the position of executive engineer, Ahmedabad. The years 1917 and 1918 were spent with the Mesopotamian Expeditionary Force, on construction work on the Military. Railways. On his return to India he was appointed executive engineer, Brach, and in 1920 he was promoted to deputy chief engineer, rising to chief in 1931. He also acted as deputy agent for certain periods."
