1910 R. A. Skelton and Co was set up to take over the manufacture of broad flange beams. [1]

1920 H. J. Skelton and Co were appointed sole purchasing agents in the United Kingdom for the French establishment known as the Compagnie De Fibes-Lille. They were also appointed purchasing agents fro a consortium of Italian shipbuilders and also for one of the largest Japanese banking, shipping and metal houses.[2]
