1914 Founded as Lady Workers' Homes.
1958 Owned 3 blocks of flats in Highgate and 5 blocks in St. Johns Wood, London.
1958 Name changed to Grovewood Securities. Under J. P. C. Danny, the remit was broadened allowing it to invest in manufacturing and trading companies. Eagle Star lent the company £163,000 with further loans in later years.
1959 Acquired the chemicals group Bush Beach and Segner Bayley.[1]
1961 Bought a controlling interest in Brands Hatch.[2]
1961 Ordinary shares admitted to the Stock Exchange.
1963 Owners of Mallory Park through Brand's Hatch Circuit Ltd. Also owners of Snetterton.[3]
1963 Acquired all the issued share capital of Cheshire Car Circuit, the firm which runs Oulton Park.[4]
1963 Bid to buy Cadwell Park, Louth, Lincs.[5]
1965 Acquired Ranton and Co.[6]
1966 Acquired Aerosigns (London) Ltd
1969 Grovewood Securities to form a new company British Melamine Tableware Co from parts of British Industrial Plastics and Ranton and Co[7]

1971 Acquired shares in Vapormatic Ltd, and in D. Rowe and Co Ltd, which became associated companies
1972 Acquired John J. Dunster and Son
1972 Acquired shares in Lawrence Wilson and Son Ltd, and in M. P. Harris (Holdings) Ltd, which became associated companies.
1973 Eagle Star held 28.6 percent of the shares; the principal shareholder in Grovewood wanted to sell and Eagle Star was prepared to purchase which triggered a Competition Commission investigation.
1975 Acquired by Eagle Star Insurance Co.[9]
1978 Buy Champneys Health Farm at Tring.[10]
1979 Takes 29% stake in Duple International.[11]
1984 BAT Industries acquired Eagle Star.
1986 British American Tobacco sold Grovewood Securities, its industrial conglomerate, to Wolseley Hughes, except for a few parts of the business[12]
1991 Receivers appointed; former name Nash Industries plc[13]
