Whisky distillers, Keith

1957 Glen Keith was built on the initiative of Canadian drinks giant Seagram through its subsidiary Chivas Brothers Limited. It was the first new malt distillery to be built in Scotland since the Victorian era and provided extra capacity to the nearby flagship distillery Strathisla, reputedly Scotland's oldest. It was intended that the distillery should provide spirit for the existing blends of Chivas Regal, Passport and 100 Pipers. It was also home to the Chivas laboratory.
