GEORGE THOMAS BELL received his education at Westoe Secondary School, and at the Marine School, South Shields. After serving his apprenticeship from 1917 to 1921 with [[Brigham and Cowan|Messrs. Brigham and Cowan, Ltd.]], South Shields, he was associated with [[White's Patent Oil Burning Co|Messrs. White's Patent Oil Burning Company, Ltd.]], which afterwards became [[White's Marine Engineering Co|White's Marine Engineering Company, Ltd.]], Hebburn-on-Tyne, up to the time of his death, which occurred on 29th August 1943 at the early age of forty-one. | |||

GEORGE THOMAS BELL received his education at Westoe Secondary School, and at the Marine School, South Shields. After serving his apprenticeship from 1917 to 1921 with Messrs. Brigham and Cowan, Ltd., South Shields, he was associated with Messrs. White's Patent Oil Burning Company, Ltd., which afterwards became White's Marine Engineering Company, Ltd., Hebburn-on-Tyne, up to the time of his death, which occurred on 29th August 1943 at the early age of forty-one.
