George Henry Moody (c1860-1927) A.M.I.Mech.E.

Chief Mechanical Engineer for 11 years, with Tupper and Co. Designed and constructed 2 new rolling mills for Tupper and Co.

9 years Chief Engineer, Bradley Steel Strip Co., Ltd. and Tibbington Steel Sheet Co. Designed and constructed 2 rolling mills for Bradley Steel Strip Co.

By 1922 Chief Engineer with the Britannia Steel and Iron Co., Bradley. Ltd.

GEORGE HENRY MOODY, who was educated at Christ Church School, Coseley, and Wolverhampton Technical School, spent the whole of his life in the Bilston district.

He was apprenticed in his father's blacksmith's and millwright's shops.

In 1898 he was appointed chief engineer and millwright at the Britannia Ironworks of Messrs. Tupper and Company, and he was afterwards appointed in a similar capacity to the Richmond and Regent Works of the same company.

He subsequently held similar positions with other Black Country iron companies, and at the time of his death was in the service of the Bradley Bar and Sheet Iron Company.

He died on 17th June 1927, at the age of 67.

He became an Associate Member of the Institution in 1907.
