1845 Advert: 'VALUABLE FREEHOLD MANUFACTORY, Steam Grinding Wheel, Ten Horse Engine, Dwelling-Houses and Workshops, in Bridge street, in Sheffield.
TO BE PEREMPTORILY SOLD by AUCTION, by Mr. JOHN TAYLOR, at his Auction Mart, in East Parade, in Sheffield, on Wednesday, the 16th day of April instant, at Five o'Clock in tbe Afternoon, (by order of the Mortgagee, with power of Sale,) subject to Conditions of Sale, all those very Valuable and compact FREEHOLD PREMISES, situate in, and fronting to, Bridge slreet, in Sheffield, recently in the Occupation of Mr. George Gallimore, deceased, the late Owner thereof, and used by him in his Trade of a Machine and Screw-Maker, and as a Steam Grinding Wheel, and which comprises extensive Workshops, with large Hearths, and other Conveniences; Engine House, capital Ten Horse Steam Engine, Brass Castors, Shop and Furnace, and several large Rooms, which contain Fifteen Troughs, and run 24 Bands, fitted up with all necessary Drums, Shafts, and Gearing, worked by Steam Power, and now let out to various Persons, for the Grinding of Cutlery and other Goods. Also, two convenient DWELLING-HOUSES, fronting to Bridge street, one of which was the late Residence of the said Mr. Gallimore, and the other is now in the Occupation of Mrs. Botham,and used as a Licensed Beerhouse. The Premises are compact and commodious, and the Site contains 556 Super superficial Square Yards, or thereabouts. Two-thirds of the Purchase Money may be had on Security of the Premises, by a Purchaser, if desirable.
