c.1960s: George Clark and North Eastern Marine Engineering Co, both parts of the Richardson, Westgarth Group were brought together in one company.

1977 Both of these companies were nationalised in British Shipbuilders

1979 Combined with the marine engine business of Hawthorn Leslie (Shipbuilders) as Clark Hawthorn
