1907 After George Allen's death, his eldest daughter, Grace, and the two eldest sons, William and Hugh, continued the business at 44 Rathbone Place, Oxford Street.
1913 The firm entered into receivership
1914 Directors: William S. Allen, Col. P. H. Dalbiac, C.B., and Hugh Allen (Managing); and Grace Allen, Cecil Abbott Reynolds, and Edgar Louis Skinner.[1]
Publishers of Ruskin's works and of those of Maeterlinck as well as publishing General Literature.
1914 The assets were sold to Stanley Unwin, leading to the formation of a new company, George Allen and Unwin.
