1962 Following financial reorganisation, the name of Arusha Industries was changed to General and Engineering Industries[1]

1964 Subsidiary Barrow Haematite Steel called in the receivers[2]. Another subsidiary Smith, Patterson and Co was closed[3]

1967 Acquired Barlow and Chidlaw[4]

By 1967 owned R. H. Windsor Group[5]

1969 Sold R. H. Windsor, makers of plastics machinery

1969 Acquired Midland Bright Group with its 8 subsidiaries

1970 Work had started on an expansion for Drury Engineering, supplier to the air compressor industry; Webley and Scott had diversified into lighweight jacks; more advanced design of night storage heater had been introduced by Balmforth Engineering which had also extended its range of library shelving; George Plumpton had added counting machines to its range of tools[6]

1970 Acquired P. D. Sage of Wombourn, Staffs[7]

1973 TACE acquired Balmforth Engineering of Luton[8].
