FRANK EDWARD, whose death in his seventieth year occurred on 10th October 1943, was elected an Associate Member of the Institution in 1904. He was educated privately and after serving his apprenticeship with [[Henry Pontifex and Sons|Messrs. Henry Pontifex and Sons, Ltd.]], London, from 1890 to 1896, was made outdoor foreman to [[R. Ramsden and Son|Messrs. R. Ramsden and Son, Ltd.]], brewers' engineers, London.
Three years later he joined [[George Waller and Son|Messrs. G. Waller and Son]], general engineers, of Stroud, Gloucestershire, as second draughtsman and subsequently was promoted to be chief draughtsman; his final position, which he held until 1907, was that of works manager. After holding brief appointments as works manager to the [[Parsons Motor Co|Parsons Motor Company, Ltd.]], Southampton, and as chief draughtsman to the [[United Cold Storage Co|United Cold Storage Company]], he became chief engineer to the [[Morgan Crucible Co|Morgan Crucible Company, Ltd.]], of Battersea in 1910, and after eight years with that firm accepted a similar position with the [[United Glass|United Glass Bottle Company, Ltd.]], of Charlton.
In 1921 he entered upon his final appointment as chief engineer to [[G. P. Banbury|Messrs. G. P. Banbury, Ltd.]], general engineers, of Croydon. Mr. Edward's retirement took place in 1934.

FRANK EDWARD, whose death in his seventieth year occurred on 10th October 1943, was elected an Associate Member of the Institution in 1904.
