Francis Watkins (1800-1847) of Watkins and Hill

1834 Francis Watkins of Charing Cross, an Optician, became a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers.[1]

Mr. Watkins was an extensive manufacturer of philosophical instruments, many of which he exhibited at the meetings of the Institution, which he attended very assiduously, and he was always ready to devote his time to the interests of the Society.
