1910 Charles Edwin Foster, a chief draughtsman at Cambridge Scientific Instrument Co, set up the Foster Instrument Co.

1920 Jan. Physical and Optical Societies Exhibition. Exhibitor of testing machines.

1920 September. Exhibited at the Machine Tool and Engineering Exhibition at Olympia with radiation pyrometers

1920-22 C. E. Foster invented a new car transmission and with A. E. Bowyer-Lowe, produced a few prototype cars [1]
