1968 All the companies owned by the Jewitt family were merged into one, including:
- Thomas R. Ellin (Footprint Works)
- Alfred Ridge
- John Bull (Edge tool makers)
- C. H. Jenkinson (Cold chisel and bolster makers)
- Stockport Tool Co (Hand drill makers)
- Charles W. Bacon (Wooden handle turners).
The name was changed to Footprint Tools Limited, trading under the brand Footprint.
This became one of the largest family-owned, hand tool manufacturers in the UK.
2006 Footprint Tools bought the machinery, stock and order book of Whitehouse, the Midlands based hammer Manufacturer.
Footprint Tools, owned by the Jewitt family since 1948 are currently in their fourth generation of family members to work there.
