A Newcomen Engine originally installed in the second half of the 18th century at a colliery of the Chamber Colliery Co in Ashton-under-Lyne.
Stood derelict until bought by Henry Ford in 1931 for his museum in Dearborn, USA. H. F. Morton undertook its recovery and re-erection, and relates the story in a chapter of his book [1]
